The Chester County Planning Commission's Multimodal Transportation Planning Division hosted the 2023 Transportation Forum focusing on Public Transportation/Trails Plan Outreach on Tuesday, May 9, at the West Whiteland Township Building and via Zoom from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
It was a great turnout, welcoming more than 50 attendees in-person and virtually to discuss and provide feedback on the county's public transportation planning initiatives!
Attendees were welcomed by CCPC's Multimodal Transportation Planning Division Director, Brian Styche, along with Chester County Commissioners Marian Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell, and Michelle Kichline.
Alex Sankaran, Transportation Planner, kicked off the forum with an overview of the county's Public Transportation Plan Update, including background information and phase development, considerations and challenges, and future opportunities.
Next, Steve Buck provided an update on the Chester County Trails Master Plan with a sneak-peek of the results from the public survey, as well as considerations and some preliminary trail mapping.
Transportation Planner Patty Quinn followed by highlighting current funding and programming efforts toward the county's upcoming Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) update, as well as the status of some major improvement projects.
"We thank everyone who attended our 2023 Transportation Forum, and we look forward to continuing these discussions through meetings and other transportation planning outreach opportunities throughout the year," added Brian Styche.
