Meet Our New Sustainability Planner
October 2024
With sustainability being such a topic of interest lately, CCPC recently created a new division to focus on this area. Now, we are excited to introduce the third member of our Sustainability Division, our new Sustainability Planner, Ryan Mawhinney!
Ryan has been a great addition to CCPC and is excited about the opportunity to help our communities become more sustainable. "I have always appreciated CCPC's work and the guidance it provides to municipalities and communities," he notes. "CCPC's website has been a valuable resource for me in my previous planner roles, offering a wealth of information, resources, maps, models, guides, and eTools."
So far, Ryan has worked on various projects within the Sustainability Division, including Sustainability Practices for HOAs, Municipal Open Space Plans, Keep Chester County Beautiful, Energy Transition in Disadvantaged Communities, and Climate Action Plan Implementation.
Though he lives in Wilmington, DE, Ryan loves Chester County for its abundance of open space, farms, and trails. "I have so many favorite places here — Stroud Preserve, the meadows at Longwood Gardens, White Clay Preserve, and Hopewell Big Woods, to name a few," he says.
Aside from working on sustainability initiatives, Ryan enjoys activities such as mountain biking, bikepacking, camping, traveling, tennis, and history.
In his spare time, you could most likely find him by a fire, listening to music, reading, playing cards, watching the Phillies, and exploring new places with his daughters. He could also be found playing with his family's new Pitbull terrier puppy, Dr. Dre.
We look forward to continuing to work with Ryan!
