It's Electric!
Fall 2022
Electric vehicles are becoming more and more common, particularly in southeastern PA. To accommodate their growing popularity and to encourage the transition to electric vehicles, more charging infrastructure is needed. Fortunately, information and funding resources are available to help the transition.
First, TMACC is holding its first Electric Vehicles Summit at the Desmond in Malvern on Thursday, November 17. The event will feature statewide and national experts on electric vehicles and infrastructure for those corporations, institutions and governments thinking about making the switch.
Last month the Chester County Association of Township Officials held a virtual panel discussion with a number of Chester County municipalities who are all in various stages of encouraging electric vehicle infrastructure. View the webinar.
Several funding programs are available for funding electric vehicle acquisition and charging stations. PA DEP’s Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant is open through December 16, which funds the incremental costs of purchasing an EV and charging infrastructure; PennDOT is preparing to launch a funding round for the National Electric Vehicles Infrastructure (NEVI) program for DC Fast Chargers along Alternative Fuel Corridors, and PECO offers rebates for installing electric vehicle charging stations.
