Chester County's Climate Action Plan
The Chester County Climate Action Plan was adopted by the County Commissioners on October 7, 2021. The plan was prepared by the Chester County Planning Commission in partnership with the County's Environmental and Energy Advisory Board. The Climate Action Plan provides a blueprint for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing energy efficiency at County government facilities and community-wide. Visit Webpage
DVRPC Energy & Climate Resources
DVRPC provides resources that address climate change and related issues, including greenhouse gas emissions inventories, energy efficiency, alternative energy and fuels, renewable energy ordinances, transportation, local action plans, and statewide adaptation plans. Visit Website
PA Climate Action Plan
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Climate Change Advisory Committee produced the Pennsylvania Climate Action Plan which was released in 2019 as required under the Pennsylvania Climate Change Act of 2008. An update of the plan was released in September 2021. The plan includes adaptation goals and emission reduction targets and specific strategies to meet those goals. The greenhouse gas reduction goals of the Chester County Climate Action Plan are consistent with those of the PA Climate Action Plan. Visit Website
PA DEP Climate Change
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) website has comprehensive information about climate change and how it is impacting Pennsylvania. The information also includes what is being done to mitigate the impact and protect residents throughout the region. From policy actions to innovative programs, PA DEP is undertaking a coordinated effort to ensure a stable and safe environment as we face the changes in the climate. Visit Website
Vision Partnership Program
Chester County's Vision Partnership Program provides planning grants to municipalities to adopt a Climate Action Plan, Energy Transition Plan, Sustainability Plan, Climate Resilience Plan, and other studies that can help municipalities better plan for the impacts of climate change and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
